The picture above is my headset, I got this 2 years ago as a birthday present. Foams are still intact and I can somehow see some shine on it. Sorry if I exaggerated a bit. :D To prevent some serious damage in the future putting a headset cover is going to be a great help. This tutorial I made is super easy to follow. You may change the color if you want to. Because I love you all so much I've made 2 almost the same tutorial. One is using a No 3 yarn and the other one is using a No 4 yarn.
My brother loves it! |
For the first tutorial please follow the steps below.
Red Heart Handknitting and Crochet Yarn
Susan Bates Crochet hook G6/4.00mm
Blunt Needle
To start, make a magic circle. Stephanie made a photo tutorial on how to make a magic circle here. You may also watch the video below:
R1: Chain 2, 10 dc in loop sl st in top of ch2. 10 dc
R2: Chain 2, *2 dc in next st* around, sl st in top of ch2. 20dc
R3: Chain 2, *dc in next st, 2 dc in next st* around, sl st in top of ch2. 30dc
R4: Chain 2, *dc in next 2 st, 2 dc in next st* around, sl st in top of ch2. 40dc
R5: Chain 2, *dc in next st* around, sl st in top of ch 2. 40dc
R5.1: Then continuously sl st around. Cut the yarn and fasten off using the blunt needle. Slip Stitching in the last row will create a chain like effect.
For the second tutorial please follow the steps below.
Red Heart Super Saver in Hot Red
Susan Bates Crochet hook 5.00mm
Blunt Needle
Steps:
Start with a magic circle
R1: Chain 2, 10 dc in loop sl st in top of dc. 10 dc
R2: Chain 2, *2 dc in same st* around, sl st in top of dc. 20dc
R3: Chain 2, *dc in same st, 2 dc in next st* around, sl st in top of dc. 30dc
R4: Chain 2, *dc in same* around, sl st in top of dc. 30dc
R4.1 Slip stitch around. Cut the yarn and fasten off using the blunt needle.
Note: If you notice on the 1st tutorial it says sl st in top of ch 2 and on the a 2nd tutorial it says sl st on dc. It actually does not have a big impact on the project. I just want to show you the 2 ways in joining the round. :)
I hope you enjoyed making this simple headset cozies. :) Happy Crocheting!
Love,
Jho
